Melissa Strunc, CNM joined Chesapeake Women’s Health in August 2020 after relocating from Baltimore, Maryland where she worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for seven years.

She earned her bachelor degree in education, and then enriched her life with the deliveries of her seven children. It was through her birth experiences that she found her true calling, nursing and midwifery. She attained her masters in midwifery from Frontier Nursing University while continuing to gain valuable experience in high risk obstetrics, neonatal, postpartum, and gynecological nursing. Her focused interests include family planning, the expansion of midwifery care to underserved populations, and providing midwifery care during crises and disasters.

As a self-proclaimed “foodie”, Melissa also enjoys hiking, exploring, traveling and finding new hangouts with her adventurous family. She is a welcomed addition to the Chesapeake Women’s Health family.
